Membership & Events Director
The Beaver County Chamber of Commerce (BCCC) is a 501c(6) organization, a nonprofit business association that represents and promotes the interests of the business community of Beaver County, Pennsylvania. BCCC helps its members succeed through proactive working partnerships with all levels of government, a broad range of for-profit businesses, and the community-based nonprofit sector to create and sustain a healthy local economy and quality of life.
The BCCC has over 530 members ranging from large for-profit corporations, small businesses, and entrepreneurs to charitable, social service and educational organizations. It is governed by a Board of Directors that includes leaders drawn from all its member constituencies.

Position Overview
Reports to: Chamber President & Vice President of Operations
Position Type: Full-Time
Position Purpose: to plan, budget, manage and execute the Chamber’s membership, and major fundraising and revenue-generating events and programming that serve the mission of the Chamber and its members.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:- Bachelor's level degree in marketing, general business, or related fields of studies, or demonstrated minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a chamber or sales environment.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing membership and events designed to increase membership growth and retention, and generating non-dues revenue.
- Initiative: self-motivated, results-oriented individual; attention to detail while also able to see the big picture, with a positive outlook and clear focus on high-quality customer support.
- Time management: efficient and effective in organizing, planning, and prioritizing work in a fluid and evolving team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently with little supervision and tight deadlines and manage outsourced marketing activities (such as graphic design and publications).
- Technical skills: proficient with Microsoft Office, graphic design, PowerPoint, Adobe, Canva, Publisher, Photoshop.
- Creativity: the ability to contribute new methods and approaches that complement the mission of the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce.
- Dealing with ambiguity: the ability to take loosely defined concepts and ideas to fruition. Is credible and comfortable in dealing with a broad spectrum of business industries and people.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Develop strategies to produce revenue:
a. Recruit new members through an organized program
b. Retain existing members through an organized program
c. Identifies and implements non-dues revenue programs, including sponsorship opportunities, and coordinates with the Finance lead for proper follow-up.
2. Administration:
a. Evaluate the dues structure regularly
b. Conduct new members’ orientation at least quarterly
c. Enter and maintain current member data
d. Survey members periodically
e. Work closely with the Marketing lead on efforts including Chamber social media platforms and postings, marketing the Chamber’s activities, events, and programs, and graphic design and publication, creating content, distributing, and managing the Chamber’s e-newsletters, e-blasts, and website.
f. Provides direct leadership to Chamber interns.
g. Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations.
3. Membership:
a. Work with Chamber members to identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
b. Evaluate, restructure, and manage membership Ambassadors.
c. Goodwill calls, monthly meetings, ribbon cuttings.
d. Initiate and organize business seminars that provide value to members.
e. Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems.
f. Serve as the lead member of Chamber Membership Committee.
4. Events and Programs:
a. Event planning, design and production, interest generation, and managing all project delivery elements within time and budget limits.
b. Provide outstanding membership service and organize memorable events and programs that meet quality expectations:
I. Work with Chamber members to identify their needs and ensure member satisfaction.
ii. Organize facilities and all event details such as décor, catering, entertainment/speakers, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material, etc.
iii. Specify event and program staff/volunteer requirements and coordinate their activities.
iv. Conduct pre-and post-event/program evaluations, report and act on outcomes.
v. Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot emerging problems.
c. Conduct market research, gather information, and negotiate contracts prior to closing any deals.
d. Serve as the lead member of Chamber Events Committee. Lead organization events and program coordination teams, working with other Chamber Board members or organization members and volunteers. This includes leading committees such as Leadership Beaver County, Gala, Energy & Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (E&), Business of the Year Awards, and Golf; it includes providing structured agendas, setting expectations, clarifying roles, and dialogue facilitation.
e. Collaborate with Marketing Director to ensure promotion and publicize events in a timely manner; design and develop graphic content for print, website, and other marketing media use – including the Annual Report.
f. Collaborate with Finance lead to develop and manage budgets and secure event-specific or year-long sponsorships.
g. Oversee the development of educational programs that enhance value to Chamber membership return on investment (ROI) and differentiation from other business organizations. This includes the Leadership Beaver County program.

Work Environment / Physical Demands: flexible work schedule with primarily daylight hours and some evening events (1 or 2 per month); 40 hours per week. This position requires a high level of personal interaction with members, including out-of-office meetings, acquiring potential members, member retention meetings, sponsorship solicitation, etc.
