  • What is Leadership Beaver County?

Leadership Beaver County is a program designed for existing and emerging leaders within the County. Our goal is to educate up-and-coming leaders on the most important opportunities, challenges, and issues within the county and region in order to cultivate diverse and well-rounded leaders to carry our community forward.

What can a class member expect?

Class members will participate in full-day sessions, once a month, from September through May (with the exception of December). During each session, we will cover topics such as Leadership, Education, Social Infrastructure, Government, Politics, Media, Health, Economic Diversity and Quality of Place. These sessions are formatted through lectures, panels, tours, and hands-on activities. This program will help participants to grow both personally and professionally by delivering tailored leadership skill training and assessments, fostering connections with top leaders in the region, and bringing awareness to the most pertinent aspects and issues Beaver County faces today.

How is one accepted into Leadership Beaver County?

Each prospect must submit a complete application packet no later than August 1, 2019 to be considered for this program. An application packet will be considered complete if submitted with a $25 application fee, a letter of approval from your supervisor, and two letters of recommendation, along with completion of the actual application. All applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and notified of admittance status during the week of August 19th, 2019. Since this program requires time away from work, all applicants must submit written approval of their supervisor. Supervisors should be aware that the employee will be involved with the program 1 Friday per month from September-May, with the exception of the month of December.

What happens after the first year?

After graduating from the Leadership Beaver County program, you will become part of a special alumni group. Our alumni are encouraged to mentor future Leadership classes and to continue our mission of community leadership throughout Beaver County by joining local non-profit boards, which we would be happy to make recommendations for. Our alumni also have the option of participating in our other Leadership related programs at a discounted rate, and even teaching in our programs if applicable. You will also be invited to partake in exclusive alumni social events and may be featured in our alumni newsletter.
